Cowabunga!
Lisa Jaquez Allen
$250.00

State: Michigan
Country: United States

Dimensions: 7.5 x 11 x 2
Submission Url:
Media: Acrylic on Found Object
Artist Statement : My artistic journey is deeply rooted in the traditions of the Mexican and Native American cultures which have surrounded and inspired me since my childhood. These influences serve as the foundation for my creative expression. In my practice, I specialize in painting and the repurposing of rescued three dimensional wooden animals. My work is an ode to sustainability and the transformative power of art. I rescue forgotten handmade creatures and bring them to new life by re-imagining them with color and intricate patterns drawn from various artistic traditions now also forgotten. My hope is that my art causes viewers to pause and reflect on all that can already be found in our world. I also hope that my work sparks curiosity and interest in under-explored global art and design traditions. I rescued this cow, from a massive recycling center in Kaleva, Michigan. My re-imagination of her contributes to saving the Planet and lifts up the artistic traditions of those historically-excluded.
Madonna & Child in Catembe, Mozambique
Nafeesah Allen
$3,000.00

State: New Jersey
Country: United States

Dimensions: 24 x 36 x 1.5
Submission Url:
Media: Representational, mixed-media on canvas. Organic works with stones, tile, and beads - easily reattached if/when they shed.
Artist Statement : Original photo taken in early 2025 on Catembe beach in Maputo, Mozambique. The woman and her child were searching for the mother's maternal father. She said her own mother was a prostitute originally from the Comoros Islands who had recently died; her brother took everything she was set to inherit. She was in search of a father she had never met, but who she hoped would save her and her child from poverty. On this rubbish-filled beach, I did the best I could to offer them food and to try to set them back towards the most likely places to look. Not only are the subjects a reflection of items lost and found, but the act of assemblage offers a redemptive and transformational character to their image. Divorcing the image from its origin story offers visual novelty, tactile realism, and a under tone of religious suffering. Mixed media tile and embellishments with dried flowers, coins, beads, etc., completed at Arts, Letters & Numbers Residency in July-Aug 2025 in upstate New York.

$500.00

Sold State: MD
Country: USA

Dimensions: 46 x 36 x 23
Media: Rubber garden hose, steel armature
Artist Statement : A garden implement takes on a persona, a life of its own. My work in sculpture focuses on representations of concepts and qualities of humanness—the characterization of various emotions, expressions, sensations, thought processes, the embodiment of self-identity, and social behavior. Having a background as a professional dancer, choreographer and competitive athlete, I am used to employing the language of the human body as a means of creative expression, and in sculpture I often use aspects and parts of the human anatomy to convey ideas in physical form.

Juror's Choice
State: MD
Country: USA

Dimensions: 19 x 19 x 2
Media: Mosaic (dishware, thinset)
Artist Statement : “Cut to the Quick” describes both the process and subject of this mosaic. After nipping the outer edges of a plate, I cut into the central image - hoping it cleaves according to plan. Like falling in love, the process begins with great hope, little certainty, and the knowledge that the deepest cuts come from what we hold most dearly.
Tilted Square No. 4
Tilted Square No. 4
David Bookbinder
$200.00

State: MD
Country: US

Dimensions: 8 x 8 x 1
Media: Computer heatsinks.
Artist Statement : Heatsinks are found in every computer; they are made from aluminum, which transfers heat faster than any other metal. Attached to components that generate significant heat, heatsinks are designed to (1) maximize their surface area in order to maximize their ability to disperse heat, and (2) fit into small and sometimes very oddly-shaped spaces. I take apart discarded computers, liberate the heatsinks, and use them to create sculptures that take advantage of their unusual design. Tilted Square No. 4 is a geometric exercise; multiple squares emphasize that shape, as does lifting them off the horizontal plane, and the heatsinks add a third dimension to a two-dimensional concept.
Landscape Framed in Afternoon Sun
Landscape Framed in Afternoon Sun
Jesse Brink
$400.00

State: CA
Country: USA

Dimensions: 6 x 6 x 6
Media: Glass lampshade, stone, raku-fired clay, pine scraps, brass
Artist Statement : From the very start, found and repurposed objects have been fundamental to my work. I use these forgotten or abandoned everyday items as volumetric “frames” that not only enclose and enspace my landscapes, but also directly inspire the scenes I create within. In my process, the found object defines the materials, methods, scale and color for the entire piece. This makes every piece I undertake a new adventure, trying to find a path towards achieving what this random junkshop or alleyway find has told me it needs to be complete. I do the best I can, always trying to stay alert to the unique possibilities of each object. Such as in this piece, where locating the small island at just the right depth creates a glowing halo within the golden shade. Two millimeters either forward or back, and that lovely echo between the two elements disappears. Though rough and discarded, there is so much delicate beauty to be found in these objects!

We Must Stand Up and Walk Like Ladies
Jeannine Dabb
$5,000.00

State: Pa
Country: usa

Dimensions: 71 x 18 x 18
Submission Url:
Media: Painting/ moving, sculpture made of recycled headboards.
Artist Statement : When I started this body of work, I focused on the human spirit, especially the response to the dancers in my MFA. This focus shifted regularly since this process started almost two years ago. I found the questions I was asking about my work changing constantly. With these changes in questions, I also shifted to experiment with different mediums and processes.   Looking back at both thesis shows, I achieved my aesthetic interests and goals for a site-adaptive show. I was able to answer questions about my work as it developed. I developed a better understanding of why I make art the way I do. I learned that if you dream it, you can make it happen like the idea of making my paintings dance on the pedestals. When I received the gift of those amazing recycled headboards from Mary Moore, I wanted to make something unique with them. I really had no idea how to do it. What I learned is that collaboration is everything. Collaboration allows one to accomplish more than one thinks is possible.

$4,500.00
Best in Show
Sold State: VA
Country: United States

Dimensions: 55 x 35 x 0.5
Media: Mixed Media: decorative and artisan papers, and antique, vintage and modern ephemera, metal grommets, metal ball chain connectors, curtain rod The panel(s) can be assembled in multiple configurations, adapting to the needs of different spaces.
Artist Statement : ”Tangible Connections in the Digital Age” facilitates engagement beyond electronics and beckons the viewer to seek their own discoveries. Utilizing social media to initiate this project, an online network answered the call to submit paper-based materials from around the globe. The durable paper panels form a physical screen the viewer can simultaneously look at and through, which is an analog response to the digital reality of screen time. The screen has subtle front and back sides, which represent our conscious and subconscious thought processes. Each tile symbolizes a recorded memory or impression as a tactile pixel. The front arrangements indicate how we consciously retrieve these memories and the back view demonstrates how our subconscious might store data and generate associations.

Nic Galloro
$225.00

State: MD
Country: United States

Dimensions: 21 x 12 x 1
Media: A hand sickle become the beak of the bird; a pasta strainer is the breast; a crushed bottle cap is the eye (with a glass bead); the leg and feet are bamboo: plastic forms the wing.
Artist Statement : As a life-long environmentalist, I have been acutely aware of the quantity of waste produced by society. Within that refuse, I recognize the design qualities intended for practical function, but, taken our context, they become sculptural elements decoded differently by human perception. A narrative dialogue emerges from these juxtapositions. When a presence is achieved, the piece is finished. At the same time, the use of reclaimed materials makes the viewer aware of what is discarded.

State: VA
Country: US

Dimensions: 14.5 x 14.5 x 4
Media: "Eons and Eons" is constructed of 'paper' pulp that I made from old towels. The pulp is shaped over an old styrofoam Christmas wreath. Mica and Black Stallion grit add dimension, as does metallic paint.
Artist Statement : I've been interested in archaeology all my life. As the years are flying by me I wanted to portray the passage of time, one eon layered on top of another like an ancient city in an archeological dig.

State: VA
Country: US

Dimensions: 22 x 9 x 2
Media: Mixed Media: Recycled wood scraps, old nail and upholstery tacks, washers and buttons. Wall hung.
Artist Statement : Maybe its my penurious nature or maybe recycled things can be so evocative, but I love working with used materials. These were found in the scrap bin of a sculpture class. I like the idea that others had left their hands upon them and left a remnant of their creativity in them. What's left of their work adds to mine. Thanks.

$900.00

State: MD
Country: United States

Dimensions: 29 x 15.5 x 0.25
Media: woven strips of photos printed on transparency paper and mounted to a found metal panel
Artist Statement : This collection transforms photographic images captured during my travels through Scotland and Sweden into layered compositions that celebrate texture, color, and depth. My work explores how time and environment transform natural elements and human-made structures—from weathered buildings to the beauty of degrading metal. I like to find my unlikely canvases in unlikely places—old metal signs from factories, metal found along the road or at recycling dumps and salvage warehouses. Seeing the textures in nature combined with textures of rusting metal and peeling paint reveals a fascinating symbiosis. The patterns found in tide pools at low tide often resemble rusting metal, showing how natural and industrial decay create similar visual languages.

$300.00

State: District of Columbia
Country: United States

Dimensions: 14 x 13 x 4
Media: Mixed media: old leather, bottle-dump glass, barbed wire, found hardware, wasp's nest.
Artist Statement : I am drawn to the patina and complication of salvaged materials -- old leather, rusty barbed wire, melted and broken glass. My imagery tends toward the surrealist, with meanings and representations thar blur together as in a dream. The jagged security glass with its oxidizing steel mesh echoes the pattern of the wasp's nest, while the oiled and weathered leather has stiffened to resemble the rusty metal that holds it in place.
